Warren Township currently has approximately 225 residents with special needs, which includes our K-12 population and adults living in the community. These residents and their families lack a dedicated, fully accessible recreational space designed to meet their physical, social, and emotional needs.

The projects in Bayonne and Toms River have widely recognized success. There is improved quality of life for special need residents and has fostered volunteerism and inclusion among local youth organizations. The Bayonne and RWJ Field of Dreams provide a clear roadmap for sustainable programming, partnerships, and maintenance.

Inclusive recreation for special needs residents, their siblings, and peers.

Provides new volunteer and service opportunities for students, civic groups, and sports organizations.

This will establish Warren Township as a regional leader in accessibility and inclusion enhancing the Townships reputation and community pride.

Participants enjoy the thrill of teamwork, cheering one another on and building uplifting, supportive bonds. They get to raise their self worth while cultivating their social interactions. Best of all they get to have Fun!

Beyond baseball, the facility will host adaptive soccer, kickball, volleyball, football, and other sensory friendly events. There are opportunities for the “Field of Dreams’ to partner with schools, Special Olympics and recreation departments across the local area.
